Stage 6: It Can Be This Good
Apr 02, 2025
No matter where our calling takes us, the journey inevitably requires us to face our fears and grow in ways we never expected.
The thrill of victory—the satisfaction of overcoming obstacles and proving to ourselves that we were capable all along—is something we all crave, especially those of us drawn to leadership. Having conquered self-doubt, persevered through setbacks, and pushed past the fear of failure, we emerge transformed, carrying an emotional reward that would have been impossible had we not answered the call in the first place.
Action is what keeps everything moving forward. Even when we feel uncertain or uncomfortable, taking that next step is how we reach a new equilibrium—one that brings deeper contentment and fulfillment. When I hear stories of lives being changed through Circles, I tap into an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Every challenge, every setback, every hard-earned lesson was worth it. Had I ignored the calling or given up when the road became difficult, those transformations might never have happened. And I wouldn’t be experiencing the profound joy that comes from seeing real, lasting change.
It can be this good.
A world without poverty is within our reach. There is no homelessness, no empty pursuit of money for its own sake, no fear of those who are different. No one is isolated from the larger life force of their community. People in need ask for help, and others freely give it. No one suffers from a lack of food, clothing, medical care, housing, transportation, childcare, love, connection, or purpose. All of this has faded from the human experience because enough of us answered the call to make it happen. Easing suffering is the greatest reward of all.

“Rebirth” (Associated with It Can Be this Good!)
I have traveled far and wide
and met all walks of life.
I thought in the desert I died,
but there were several seas to cross.
Each time I thought I was closer
it turns out I had much further to go.
One step in front of the other
and with each a friend gained and lost.
I’ve been chasing that twinkle for an age,
and found the end of every rainbow.
Yet still deep in my ribcage
I cannot feel a quiet soul.
There must be something wrong
with this whole journeying thing?
How much longer can I stay strong
to find the origin of the glinting?
I found my old sea glass
and stared at its strange clear-blue,
except this time, I found something.
That realization has always been true.
I have never needed
to chase that spark outside.
From the glass itself
the glint is contained inside!
It’s almost like my mind cracked
and pure wisdom flowed,
a fog lifted from my sight
and found my soul’s abode.
I walked onward towards the sun
and now I know wherever I roam,
even into that unknown,
I, myself, am my own home!
